In the wee hours of March 30th, 2010, Clayton made his big debut into the world. He came quickly; here is the time line -
2am: Julie wakes up with contractions
2:30am: We leave the house for the hospital
2:50am: Arrive at the hospital in record time
3:25am: Dr. Morel comes in the room; I’m told it’s too late for anesthesia – which I wasn’t thrilled about.
3:39am:Clayton born! 8lbs 1 oz, 20 3/4" long. Dr. Morel invited Jeff to don gloves and help deliver the baby. He guided Jeff’s hands as they maneuvered the head and shoulders out. What an unforgettable experience for a dad!
I actually did more yelling and screaming than Clayton did. Afterwards, I apologized to the doctor and nurses and assured them that I was generally more pleasant to be around.

Julie - even though we didn't have that long in Wyview to get to know one another, you are one of my very favorite people. You're just infectiously wonderful. I just came across this and read about your new baby boy. He is absolutely perfect, and I cannot believe you delivered that quickly and without anesthesia. Wow! Congratulations! I just popped over from Heather & Rex's blog to see--I saw your mom in the hall at church the other week and figured you'd probably had the baby :) He's beautiful, as are the photos. I'm glad you had a quick and smooth birth! If our baby (due next month) is a boy, we're using the same name...good thing we aren't in the same ward, I guess!

Congratulations. My second came about that fast. I always tell him that he could have been born in the drive through at McDonald's because I had to pick my husband up from work before he'd had a chance to eat lunch... on the way to the hospital. Luckily we made it... the doctor almost didn't.
Oh, and I'm mad at you for how absolutely beautiful you look in your "I just gave birth" pictures. Pblt.
